Ahhh these two.  Gotta love ‘em.

Once, there was only dark. If you ask me, the light’s winning.

So sad it’s over but such a superb ending.

Tonight’s the season finale of True Detective.  I’m really going to miss seeing this beautiful mug every Sunday night.

I believe when the going gets tough, the tough get cardboard sleeves because the cup’s too hot.

Is there a better smile on the planet?  I think not.

"Michael is a deep well. He doesn’t have his shtick. He’s willing to make himself look like an idiot to get where he wants to go. It’s like painting the most beautiful landscape, then taking a cloth and wiping all that beauty away to start again. To be willing to throw all that good work out of the window. He’s not vain. He’s not precious. He’s the boxer and I’m the trainer in that light. And every fight will be different."

I’m like a Phoenix…rising from Arizona!
Well it’s been a very cold, very long winter in MKE and every day it feels like I’m putting my life on hold until warmer weather arrives.  Today I decided, fuck it.  I need to do whatever I need to do and spring will catch up…eventually.  So in keeping with that theme I’ve decided to bring my blog out of a six month hibernation.  I may not be able to run outside comfortably, find a pair of boots that isn’t covered in salt or turn on a light without getting shocked, but I can still celebrate the little things.  And today I’d like to celebrate how happy I am to live in a world with people who inspire me to be compassionate, driven and a better version of myself with each passing day…
"Every day, and every week, and every month, and every year of my life, my hero is always ten years away. I’m never going to be my hero. I’m not going to obtain that and that’s fine with me because it keeps me with somebody to keep on chasing." -MM

"To those of you out there who have ever felt injustice because of who you are or who you love, tonight I stand here in front of the world with you and for you." -JL

RIP Elmore Leonard, author of “Out of Sight—a great book and one of my favorite movies. There are differences here and there between the book and the screenplay, but unlike some movies, which diverge wildly from the original material, this one was pretty on mark. And that’s proof of what a great storyteller Leonard was. This scene—and the one where Foley and Sisco reunite in the bar in Detroit—are just perfect.

"No I’m just gonna sit here, take it easy, and wait for you to screw up."
